Saraswati Chalisa
Chaupais in praise of Goddess Saraswati, goddess of learning, music and speech, by the poet Ram Sagar: how her grace made Valmiki, Kalidasa and Sant Goswami Tulsidas, and how she helped Lord Vishnu against Madhu and Kaitabha. In English letters, with the meaning of every verse.
Recite it on Vasant Panchami, on Thursdays, and before study or an exam. For now it gives only the verses that two independent families of sources agree on, letter for letter; the rest are held back until their reading is settled. Reciting from memory? Hide the meaning.
