Shri Ram Chalisa

Chaupais in praise of Lord Rama by the poet Haridas: the name that Lord Shiva meditates on, Lord Hanuman his messenger, Goddess Sita as Mahalakshmi, and Rama as the one true Lord who makes worlds in a moment. In English letters, with the meaning of every verse.

33 of its 46 chaupais and two closing dohasAbout 7 min to recite

Recite it on Ram Navami, on Vivah Panchami and on Tuesdays. For now it gives only the verses that two independent families of sources agree on, letter for letter, so it opens with the second chaupai; its first, “Shri Raghubir bhakt hitkari”, and twelve others are held back until their reading is settled.
